Big Title, Big Impact

Hi Everyone!  Happy September!  I have a layout with a big title for some BIG impact!  I used my Silhouette to create a large title and Bella Blvd Lucky Starz papers gave this page just the pop of color it needed to get the WOW factor. Here’s what I used for my Big Title, Big Impact layout:

My first step, after deciding on the photo and papers, was to create the title using my Silhouette.  Here’s a screenshot of how the title looked prior to cutting.  I used Aerial Black font at 72 pt.  I needed the letters cut as an outline only so I ungrouped and chose release compound path so I could remove all the inside cuts from the letters.  I also inserted a star from my library.  I used the Punch paper because the colors are soft and it lists the days of the week, fitting perfectly with the theme of the page.

I wanted to back the title with a subtle pattern with some color to have contrast between the background paper and the letters in the title, so I trimmed down the Scallop paper to fit behind each letter (around 1.5 in).  This gave me a colorful title with a pop.  Surprisingly, it didn’t take long to use liquid adhesive to adhere individual pieces behind each letter!  To back the star I used the chevron side of the Gulf paper.

I cut strips of paper using the Ice and Color Crazy papers, adhering them at a slight angle along the bottom edge of the page.  I also made a photo mat with the same papers to keep consistency on the page.

To embellish I used a mini and a small star punch from my stash.  I punched about a billion (ha!) of each star then adhered with Multi Medium Matte.  Next I added a few of the Text buttons.

To finish I used the 01 Precision Pen to outline each letter.  It gives the letters definition and ties in the other black elements on the page.

Try making a big impact on your page with a big title, I think you’ll like the result!

Happy Crafting!
